Nate joins again with game dog talk, cooper updates and the corgi is on new supplements.

Sarah is Drinking:
Evil Twin Brewing Molotov Cocktail Imperial IPA
Did you like Before, During, & After Christmas? Maybe you thought it poured brilliantly, and you loved of the arrogant amounts of hops wowed you. This beer will knock your tongue off, essentially due to the obscene amount of hops that went down this explosive fella. It’s a tour de force in hoppiness and by far the craziest beer made by Evil Twin… but not the last.

Rebecca is Drinking:
Paradox Beer Company No.45 Salty Melons Wild Sour Golden Ale
Every   beer   that   Paradox   Beer   Company   produces   is barrel-aged and bottle-conditioned. In   2012,   Jeff,   Brian   and   David,   equipped   with   over   30 years    of    combined    professional    brewing    experience, founded Paradox Beer Company. Paradox  Beer  Company  produces  original  and  rare  beers which  honor  the  uncertainty  of  nature  bound  with  rigorous quality  testing,  providing  one-of-a-kind  flavors  that  could only be produced by Paradox.

Nate is Drinking:
Gin and Tonic with Lime
A gin and tonic is a highball cocktail made with gin and tonic water poured over ice. It is usually garnished with a slice or wedge of lime. The amount of gin varies according to taste. Suggested ratios of gin to tonic are between 1:1 and 1:3.

Food in training and learning theory... Folks, you may want to consult your local dictionary for this one.

Sarah is Drinking:
Newburgh Brewing Company, MegaBoss IPA
“Mega Boss” (adj): meaning ‘radical’ or ‘awesome’ or ‘super duper’
We bring you “MegaBoss IPA”, our American IPA loaded with 8 different hop varieties, showcasing some of our favorite IPA things: a rich pineapple & tropical fruit aroma, with a flavor profile that very much follows that aromatic start, concluding with a lemon & herbal hop finish. At 7.0% ABV, it’s incredibly smooth & easy-drinking, with a bitterness that never overpowers the wonderful flavors from the many hops. An IPA to be enjoyed over & over again.

Rebecca is Drinking:
Sudwerk Brewing, 3 Best Friends Coffee Vanilla Lager
3 Best Friends incorporates Madagascar vanilla, cacao nibs, and Honduran coffee. It's the black sheep of the bunch-in a delicious, well-lagered fashion.

Emily is Drinking:
Made it at home, Bloody mary with Corona
A Bloody Mary then mix in a Corona.... its science bitch

Nov 24, 2016

Starting neighborhood programs, ACC and dogs are our friends.

Sarah is drinking:
Grimm Artisanal Ales Super Spruce
Super Spruce owes its immense pine aromatics to a double dose of resin. The new growth of spruce trees layered with Chinook hops create a complex profile of fresh pine that includes floral, citrus, cola, and bubble gum undertones. This unboiled beer is luminous and hazy with a grapefruit-like acidity that perfectly showcases the bright coniferous flavors. Sea salt rounds the mouthfeel, while white oak provides tannic structure.

Rebecca is drinking:
Grimm Artisanal Ales Telekinesis
Telekinesis is a hoppy, tart, and smashable American wild ale fermented with a mixed culture of yeast and spontaneous microbes. Mosaic, Citra, and Falconer’s Flight hops contribute peachy, tropical hop character. Lightly toasted white oak spirals lend subtle tannin structure, while our no-boil process leaves a puckering hint of raw sourdough.

Kate is drinking:
Off Color Brewing Apex Predator
When you brew as much as we do, sometimes we get tired of telling the yeast what to do. For Apex Predator Farmhouse Ale, we pitch the yeast cold, turn off the temperature control, and let the yeast do it's thing. To our delight, it spat out the sweet scent of juicy fruit wafting from a frothy, white mane. Brewed only with grain and sugar unencumbered by the heat of the kiln, we create a hazy, golden body. Apex Predator gets its teeth from a generous Crystal dry-hopping that completes the dry finish with a fruity bite. Pounce on the opportunity to let it part your lips and you may find yourself at the top of the food chain.

Dogs are not disposable, Rebecca really needs a word of the day calander, and our podcast makes people better professionals?!?

Sarah is Drinking:

Blithering Idiot, Weyerbacher Brewing

Blithering Idiot, 11.1% ABV, is brewed in the British tradition of balanced, hearty ales.  It’s a deep-copper ale with notes of date and fig. The finish is warm and fruity and begs for the next sip.
Enjoy Blithering Idiot in a brandy snifter or wine glass with full-flavored meats and cheeses or as an after dinner drink. This wonderful brew is available year-round. Lay a few down. Aging only helps a barleywine develop more complexity. This fine ale will keep for years. We feel comfortable setting our “Best By” date out to five years beyond the bottling date.

Route of all Evil Black Ale, Two Roads Brewing

A hefty Black Ale with profound malt and hop complexity. Neither Stout nor Porter, it will be its own thing – full-bodied, bold and black. Flavor characteristics of dark chocolate, mocha, molasses and dark fruits. Balanced by piney citrusy notes of Pacific Northwest hops. Full-bodied and uncommonly satisfying at 7.5% alcohol.

Rebecca is Drinking:

Sufferfest Epic Pilsner, Sufferfest Brewing

Our Epic Pilsner is big, bright and especially satisfying on a hot day or after a good sweat. With full-bodied earth tones and a hint of spice, the Epic’s Saaz hops brings a zesty start, followed by a rich grain flavor to finish like a winner. Complete with its pale sunshine color, this beer stands up to its name.

Zombue Killer, B. Nektar

Tart cherry sweetness up front with full, yet crisp fermented cider. Heavy apple skin compliments the cherry. Sweet, creamy honey rounds the flavor and balances the tartness of the cherry. Light carbonation lifts the flavor while the honey smooths the overall mouthfeel. Finishes crisp and clean.

This week Sarah and Rebecca get really deep, the Lily joins midway.

Anxieties, medications, flyball, vestibular disease, elder dog care, and election day (aka potential apocalypse)

Sarah and Lily are drinking:
Avery Brewing Company, Ale to the Chief
Originally brewed to celebrate Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009, we elected to give Ale to the Chief a second term to commemorate the 2012 election! Not an “Imperial” pale ale, this is a democracy. It’s Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase both to Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this…a brew worthy of the Oval Office!

Rebecca is Drinking:
Grimm Artisan Ales, Future Perfect Berliener Weisse Ale
Berliner with Blueberries, Blackberries, and Oak. A delightfully balanced, tart and fruity berliner. Delicately dry hopped with German Tettnang and Huell Melon. Complex yet smashable with flavors of black fruit and spicy oak tannins.

BOMB!

IPO birds should totally be a thing. Puppies, Cleints and their emotions, and training alternate species

Sarah and Johnathan are drinking:
Bell's Best Brown Ale: A smooth, toasty brown ale with hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Rebecca is Drinking:
Bear Republic Brown Ale Tribute Brown:Peter Brown Tribute Ale is malty American Brown Ale, brewed with molasses, brown sugar, and hopped with Cascade and Centennial. It's just the way Pete would have wanted it.
Oud Bruin Flemish Red Brown Ale: Verzet Oud Bruin

Rogue Farms Good Chit Pilsner

Formerly Chatoe Rogue Good Chit Pilsner.
Good Chit Pilsner is made with Rogue Farm barley that we Floor-Malted in small batches. Floor Malting is an old fashioned, 8 day process that includes steeping, germination, raking, roasting, bagging and hands-on love 24 hours a day. You know, just don't be a dick and play is just good stuff all around.

Sarah is drinking:

Sleeman Brewery Original- With its golden colour and concentrated white foam collar, Original Draught is well balanced and easy to drink. In this particular lager you’ll notice a distinctive floral hop aroma with a refreshing finish.

&

Czechvar mini keg- Even though there is nothing that can replace the direct sensory experience, let us try to describe the flavour of Czechvar beer. The first impression you get is a pleasurable and delightfully hoppy aroma. The delicate and yet rich malt flavour causes our beer, from even the first sip, to glide smoothly down your throat - maybe even too smoothly. it leaves a fine, pleasantly bitter taste that disappears so slowly… that you are already beginning to look forward to another perfectly flavour-balanced sip.

Rebecca is drinking:

Victory Brewing- Summer of Love Ale- There are plenty of reasons to love summer, and here is one great one! German hops and pale malt blend beautifully to create this refreshing taste of summer. This light-bodied ale casts a golden hue reminiscent of the summer sun shining high above the City of Philadelphia. It was commissioned of us by Visit Philadelphia in order to capture the essence of a city that is rich in history and in flavor. Share and feel the ‘Love this summer as tourists and locals alike flock to your restaurant or bar!

Jun 15, 2016

Sarah is drinking:
Whilster Brewing Chestnut Ale-
The Whistler Brewing co has come out with the Valley Trail Chestnut ale as a limited edition winter brew. The beer is a fittingly chestnut colour and poured into the glass with a finger and a half of head. The smell coming off this beer is strong with nut, caramel and a creamy vanilla. The flavour mirrors the smell with a sweetened, toasted caramel flavour smoothed by a vanilla creaminess. This Chestnut ale is a tad on the sweet side but has a smooth bitterness that helps to balance the overall feel. A touch different from the ordinary this is a warming, hearty and enjoyable winter seasonal ale.

Rebecca is drinking:
Green Flash Brewing Passion Fruit Kicker-
We’ve kicked it up a notch by adding a tropical twist to this refreshing ale. Get amped on Passion Fruit Kicker—a jaw-dropping, mouth-watering, smooth brew with sweet, tart, fruity flavor. We layer passion fruit tea and passion fruit juice with wheat malt and 2-row malted barley to bring you this exhilarating crowd pleaser. Your palate will do a 360 for more of this luscious wheat ale.

Russell Brewing Wee Angry Scotch Ale- A wee angry scotch ale is part of the Russell Brewmaster Series: a succession of small batch beers that push taste boundaries and explore new styles of beers. This batch of beer was brewed by Jack Bensley, Eric Dubuc and Anders McKinnon, Russell Brewing Company 2010.
